Valletta is a fortified city located on a peninsula between two of the finest natural harbours in the Mediterranean.Valletta city compared to other european cities is small but not when it comes to cultural heritage. Valletta is a world UNESCO heratage site. The Siege of Malta in 1565 captured the European imagination and mobilised the resources needed to create the new city of Valletta, founded soon after, in 1566 by the French crusdaer Jean Clude De La Vallette. He formed part of the Order of St John nown better as the knights of Malta."A city built by gentlemen for gentlemen".
